Country Builder

The whole world, chopped into equal-sized provinces. Rebuild a country from its pieces.

Every country has been cut into provinces of roughly the same size — Russia is hundreds of them, Luxembourg is just one. Country borders are hidden, so every line on the map looks the same. You’re given a country name: click (or drag across) every province you think belongs to it, then submit. Your score is how well your selection matches the real country.

How it works

Selecting: click a province to toggle it. Hold and drag across the land to paint many at once — if you started on a selected province, dragging erases instead.

Moving around: scroll or pinch to zoom. Drag the ocean, right-drag, or hold Space and drag to pan — or flip the map to Pan mode with the hand button.

Scoring: each round is worth up to 100. Score = correct provinces ÷ (provinces in the country + wrong picks), so missing a piece and grabbing a neighbour’s both cost you.

Fill the Map: every province you submit stays claimed for the rest of the game and can’t be picked again. Hover one to see which country you gave it to. A mistake therefore costs twice: once now, and again when the country it really belongs to comes up and that province is already taken.

What counts: overseas regions that are fully part of a country count (French Guiana is France, Alaska and Hawaii are the United States). Dependencies such as Greenland, Puerto Rico or Western Sahara are their own territories and are never asked. Microstates and tiny island nations are left off the map.
