A country appears. Name as many of its cities (50,000+ people) as you can.
You get 10 countries (or play Infinite and keep going until you end the game). For each one, type the names of its cities one at a time. Every city you get is marked on the map.
Only cities with 50,000 or more people count, and the counter shows how many the country has. Any recognised name works — "Munich" or "München". Suggestions appear after four letters (from every city on Earth, so they don't give answers away). Cities that share a name can be told apart with the province: Springfield, Missouri.
Skip swaps a country you don't fancy for another, as long as you haven't named a city in it yet. Stuck? Hint rings the biggest city you haven't named on the map and gives you its first letter. Press Finish whenever you've run dry (or when the clock runs out) to see the cities you missed in red. Your score is the total number of cities you named, and each country is rated against a fair target for its size — nobody is expected to name most of the USA, so 34 cities is superb in France and 56 in Russia.
Difficulty is how well known the country’s cities are, not the country itself.
