How it works

The chain starts at a random country. Players take turns naming a country that shares a land border with the last one named. Each turn has a 15-second timer.

You lose if you name a country that isn't a neighbor, name one already used in the chain, run out of time, or give up. If every neighbor of the current country has been used, the player whose turn it is is trapped and loses.

Strategy: lead your opponent into dead ends. Vatican, Portugal, Lesotho and friends are traps once their only neighbor is taken.

Territories count. France borders Brazil and Suriname (French Guiana) and the Netherlands (Saint Martin). Denmark borders Canada (Greenland), and the UK borders Spain (Gibraltar). You can name the territory instead of the country: from Canada, "Greenland" plays Denmark. A territory only works if it touches the current country itself. Somaliland counts as part of Somalia.
